Grammy Winner Sheryl Crow comes to Oklahoma City's OKC Zoo Amphitheatre
04-17-08 Nine-time grammy winner Sheryl Crow is on tour again and will be stopping by Oklahoma City on 08-16, this time to promote her acclaimed new album Detours. She will kick off the tour in Nashville on July 24, and will continue across the country through August where she will play in Seattle at the White River Amphitheater on August 30. Throughout the majority of the tour, she will be accompanied by the swoon-worthy songs of five-time grammy nominated singer songwriter James Blunt, and reggae icons Toots & the Maytals. The pop-folk queen turned mainstream has exclaimed that the shows are sure to be 'a blast', and both acts put on great performances that are perfect for the tour.
These shows are sure to be an exciting and emotional musical experience, as Detours puts Sheryl Crow and her recent experiences on full display. The album, which dropped in February and got the #2 spot on the Billboard 200, touches on issues such as the war in Iraq, Hurricane Katrina, and environmental problems, and also details her personal fight with breast cancer, her very public break-up, and the adoption of her child. This compilation was also produced by Bill Bottrell, who worked with Crow on the seven-time platinum selling Tuesday Night Music Club.
