08-26-08 The Washington Huskies Vs Oklahoma Sooners game is to be played on September 13, 2008 at the Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington. Lionel Willingham will return for his fourth years as the Washington Huskies head coach. Before accepting the position of head coach for Washington, Willingham coached at Stanford and Notre Dame. Starting quarterback for two years in a row is senior Jake Locker. Locker set freshman records for passing and rushing, named second team Freshman All American, and earned first team Freshman All Pac 10 Offensive Player of the Year. Willingham is starting off his season that might determine his future as the Huskies head coach with the youngest team he has ever had. Willingham believes that his team’s attitude and enthusiasm is exactly what Washington needs to succeed. Bob Stoops returns for his ninth season as head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners. As of now, Stoops is the only sooner coach to lead his first three teams to a bowl game. Sophomore Sam Bradford will be returning as starting quarterback for the Sooners. He currently holds the NCAA record for touchdown passes by a freshman. Bradford owes much of his success to his offensive line, who was voted preseason choice for college football’s best unit in 2007. The Sooners will have five senior offensive linemen returning this season, giving Bradford plenty of coverage to work his magic. Oklahoma is currently number 4 in preseason ranking.
